Aims and Objectives

Break Barriers Ltd actively promotes the social model of disability which maintains that disabled people are not the problem-the problem lies with the way society is organized.

Disability is seen as a condition imposed on disabled people by society which is created by prejudice, fear, myths and ignorance. It limits opportunities for education, employment, financial independence and full social inclusion. It is only by acceptance of the social model that disabled people will be valued as individuals and be allowed to fulfil their potential as defined by themselves.

As an organization, were cognize and challenge prejudice, discrimination and social isolation that many disabled people face throughout their lives. Break Barriers has a commitment and a clear role in facilitating people with physical and sensory impairments to lead independent lives with choice and control over their circumstances

•At Break Barriers, we believe that choice and control matters, therefore Break Barriers’ aim is to deliver a service that disabled people want; services that promote integration, independence, choice, control empowerment, respect and dignity.

•Our aim is to add life to our customers’ days because we cannot add days to their lives.

•One of Break Barrier’s objective is to promote and develop services that are actively controlled by our customers and become the voice of other disabled people living and working in Nottinghamshire & other regions in the UK

We’ve been with Break Barriers for a few years now, and in the last few months, they have excelled in their service provision. They were already very good, but since our care plan has been increased two-fold, they have been even better!
The carers are all very friendly, caring, reassuring and confident
in their tasks.
The office team are very responsive and has even supported us recently with little notice. I would certainly recommend their services.
